The Cuirassier Regiment Count Wrangel (East Prussian) No. 3 had its foundation day on 19.04.1717 and stands in the tradition of the Old Prussian Dragoon Regiment v. Wuthenau (D VI.).

It was established on 16.10.1807 in Königsberg in Prussia, namely from the Dragoon Regiment v. Zieten.

The garrison was Königsberg. Previously also Wehlau.

The troop replacements came from northern and central East Prussia.

The last regimental commanders were Wilhelm v. Lewinski (20.11.1913 to 1918) and Gilbert Count Hamilton (20.08.1918 to 02.1919).

At the beginning of 1919 the regiment reached its home garrison.

The regiment was disbanded after the First World War on 01.10.1919.

The white koller had a light-blue edging on the collar, down the front and on the sleeve cuffs.
