The dark blue tunic had a collar and Swedish-style cuffs of black cloth.
Around the collar and the sleeve cuffs as well as down the front and along the pocket welts ran ponceau-red piping.
The buttons were made of tombac and the braiding was gold.

The visor or field cap had a black trimming band as well as ponceau-red piping at the edge of the cap crown and around the edges of the trimming band.
The riding and cloth trousers were made of dark blue-mottled Tuc.
The riding breeches had a black leather insert.
The cloth trousers had - at the side - a ponceau-red piping.
The footwear was blackened. The mounted troops wore cavalry boots and the foot formations wore infantry boots.
The leather equipment was white, but not for the Baden regiments.
