The Prussian Army under Frederick William I (1713 - 40) - Chapter 5 - The Cavalry
When Frederick William I ascended the throne in 1713, he found 97 cavalry companies (house troops = Garde du Corps and Gens d`armes and 13 regiments, as well as 1 free company) with 7,737 men (= 3,791 Reuter and 3,946 dragoons).
