The regiment's foundation day was 07.03.1815.

It was formed on 24.04.1815 in Rochefort in Belgium.

The 3rd squadron of Hussar Regiment No. 4, the 4th squadron of Hussar Regiment No. 5 and the 3rd squadron of the Lützow Free Corps were used for this formation.

The last peacetime garrison was Strasbourg in Alsace.

The last regimental commander was Georg v. Jagow.

The unit was disbanded after the First World War on 01.10.1919.
